Floor and room types
Reusable labels like "Level 3" or "Kitchen", shared across your whole organisation. They are flat catalogues, not places inside a building.
Floor types and room types are labels, not places. "Level 3" and "Kitchen" are defined once for your whole organisation and then reused on any template that needs them.
They are not inside buildings
This is the part that surprises people. A floor type does not belong to a building — it is a flat list at the organisation level. You are not modelling every floor of every building; you are naming the kinds of floor and room you collect from.
The template is where a site, a building, a floor type and a room type come together to describe one real location.
Both are required on a template
So you need at least one of each before your first template will save.
Keep the lists short
These lists get used from a dropdown on a phone. A tidy dozen entries beats an exhaustive hundred nobody scrolls through.
Defaults you did not create
Some entries are system-wide defaults visible to every organisation. You can use them but not edit them.
