Smart Forecast

Predicts time-to-full for each bin from recent collection history, so you can plan routes before bins overflow.

Day-to-day operations 3 min read

Smart Forecast predicts when each bin will be full, from how quickly it has actually filled in the past. It buckets bins into Overdue, Today, 2–3 days, This week, Later and Unknown.

What it uses

Your own collection history — fill rates weighted towards recent collections, with confidence based on how many samples there are, how consistent they are, and how recent.

There is no machine learning and no black box. It is a rolling fill-rate model, which is why it explains itself and why "Unknown" is honest rather than a failure.

"Unknown" and low confidence

A bin with little or inconsistent history cannot be forecast. That is the model declining to guess, and it is the right answer — treat a low-confidence forecast as a shape rather than a promise.

What it cannot know

Anything that has not happened before. A new tenant, a Christmas shutdown, a one-off event — the forecast projects the past forward, so adjust for what you know and it does not.

Who can recalculate

Owners and managers.
